> Rough timber

It is our ambition to serve our customers as quickly as possible and therefore keep a wide range of raw wood in stock in the requested quality.

We have the following types of timber:

European & Russian softwood

Pine

Pine, like deal, is one of the most commonly used softwoods that comes in many different grades. Depending on the required quality, Lemahieu Timber Import will select this pine timber from sawmills in the far north (Northern Europe and Russia). The colder the climate, the more stable and dimensionally stable the timber.

We attach great importance to sustainable and responsible forest management. Therefore, pine from Lemahieu Timber Import always has FSC® or PEFC® certification.

Whitewood (Deal)

Deal is one of the most commonly used softwoods that comes in many different grades. Lemahieu Timber Import imports this spruce timber from sawmills in the far north (Northern Europe and Russia).

The colder the climate, the more stable and dimensionally stable the timber. We attach great importance to sustainable and responsible forest management. Therefore, Lemahieu Timber Import’s deal always has FSC® or PEFC® certification.

Douglas

Douglas is one of the hardest softwood species and very suitable for indoor as well as outdoor applications. Our suppliers of Douglas in France ensure a sustainable balance and responsible forest management.

Our CE-marking means that we guarantee the best quality. To protect Douglas against, for example, wood rot and wood-destroying fungi, we can give it preventive preservation treatment by means of immersion or impregnation.

Siberian larch

We work with our regular, reliable partners in Siberia for the import of larch (100% traceable timber!) We strive to always purchase the best possible quality.

A straighter fibre run increases the timber’s density and ensures a more stable product. A dimensionally stable board is much more hard-wearing and easier to machine.

North American & Canadian softwood

Western Red Cedar

Our Timber Import department purchases Western Red cedar from our regular partners in Canada, always PEFC®-certified. We select the quality based on the customer’s requirements and the desired application.

Cedar shingles are also part of our range.

Douglas Fir

Douglas Fir grows in North America; we also call it Oregon Pine. It is one of the most versatile types of timber on the market and can be used for numerous indoor and outdoor applications.

To protect Oregon Pine against, for example, wood rot and wood-destroying fungi, we can give it preventive preservation treatment by means of immersion or impregnation.

Yellow Pine

The Southern Yellow Pine that Lemahieu Timber Import buys comes from vast Canadian forests that are not only economically important; sustainable forest management also has a very high environmental value.

Each batch of timber will undergo a visual inspection. SAPS (top quality) and PRIME are shipped by boat to our warehouses in Ghent.

Western Hemlock

The Western Hemlock we import from North America and Canada is 100% sourced from sustainably managed forests and is PEFC®-certified.

As this timber is not very hard-wearing but highly moisture-resistant, Hemlock is used mainly for interior finishing and saunas.
