Cladding

The first ‘passive zero-energy certified’ office building in Belgium was fitted with cedar cladding from Biemar Bois that had been treated with the fire-retardant Burnblock® by Lemahieu Fire Protection®.

In contemporary architecture which respects the environment, architects frequently use timber façade cladding. The reputable architectural firm Crahay & Jamaigne used cedar for this sustainable project. To comply with the fire regulations, Lemahieu Fire Protection® treated the timber to achieve the required reaction to fire classification.

This project was carried out in collaboration with Crahay & Jamaigne and Biemar Bois.
